SMI Medical-Dental Mission Benefits 406 Patients

 
TAMPAKAN, South Cotabato - Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) delivered yet again its commitment to its Tampakan Copper-Gold Project's host communities.
 
A total of 406 indigent residents of Barangay Abnate in Kibalawan, Davao del Sur and Barangay Malabod in Malungon, Sarangani, availed of different health and medical services that SMI conducted in partnership with the respective Municipal Governments, Rural Health Units, Department of Health and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).
 
In Barangay Abnate, of the 316 patients served, 270 adults and children availed of free medical checkup, 30 for dental extractions, 6 for circumcision, and 10 attended family planning session.
 
In a message, Kiblawan IPMR Fulong Joseph Saman expressed his gratitude to SMI for the company's continuing help to the Indigenous Communities.
 
"Sa muli, ang aming taos-pusong pasasalamat sa SMI sa walang sawa na pagtulong sa mga IP communities dito sa Kiblawan. Naging katuwang ng pamahalaan ang SMI para matugunan ang pangangailangan naming mga tribu," Fulong Saman said during the activity held last April 12, 2023.
 
Meanwhile, in Barangay Malabod, SMI also conducted a medical and dental mission for more than 90 IP and non-IP residents last March 30, 2023. (30)
