SMI is a contractor of the Philippine Government under the terms of a Financial and Technical Assistance Agreement (FTAA).
We currently operate from offices in Makati City in Manila, in General Santos and Digos cities and in the municipalities of Tampakan, Columbio, and Kiblawan. We currently employ about 64 people and around 100 contractors.
SMI’s 40% controlling equity is a joint venture between GlencoreXstrata (62.5%) and Indophil Resources NL (37.5%). The 60% non-controlling equity shareholders of SMI are the Tampakan Mining Corporation and Southcot Mining Corporation (known as the Tampakan Group of Companies).
